LESSON PLAN IN TLE

GRADE 7

Prepared by: Janice Autentico

At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:

  1. Enumerate the 5 phases of 5s
  2. Demonstrate the 5 phases of 5s on the computer
  3. Recognize the benefits of 5s on computers and in real life situation

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Applying 5s on your computer

Reference: K to 12 Education Curriculum – Technology and Livelihood Education, Information and Communication Technology, p-

Materials: Computer set, Laptop, Visual Aids, Marker, Papers

  1. Activity (Pre) (5-10 minutes) – The students will be given jumbled letters and they going to form a word out of those letters. The teacher will ask the class on what word that they have formed and give its meaning.
  2. Analysis – A. What will happen to your computer if there are many unused files and folders? B are the possible effects of having unorganized files?
  3. Abstraction (Explanation) (30 minutes)

5s stands for Sort, Sweep, Set-in-order, Standardize, and Self-discipline

5s is a methodical, sustainable approach to work place organization. It is a lean tool that helps you to organize your workspace in a manner that is more efficient safer and more visually appealing.

(The students will be the one to explain the definition of each term based on the activity. Moreover, they will give examples and the teacher will guide them in the lesson proper)

 Sort – separating things and putting them in a particular order.

Example: Delete all unnecessary files and folders from your desktop.

 Sweep/ Shine – an act of cleaning

Example: Clean your computer screen, keyboard, cables and ensure free from dust.

 Set-in-order – organize things according to its use.

Example: Organize your files and folder to reduce clutter and allows an instant access.

 Standardize – to change things so that they are similar and consistent and agree with rules about what is proper and acceptable.

Example: Develop your file structures and methods. Set recommendations for keeping/ deleting emails, documents, etc.

 Self-discipline – doing things spontaneously without being told or ordered.

Example: Set outlook appointment to repeat the PC 5s tasks.

  1. Application: Activity (Post) (15 minutes)

The students will demonstrate the scenario given by the teacher about 5s.

III. Evaluation ( Assessment ) ( 5 minutes )
