Early methods for determining cholesterol levels were based on chemical colorimetric methods. FUJIFILM Wako has developed a Cholesterol test kit employing a blue chromophore in a simple, one-step procedure. The FUJIFILM Wako Cholesterol E assay utilizes an enzymatic colorimetric method for the quantitative determination of total cholesterol in serum.
